Frequently Asked Questions

Pregnancy Care Is pain relief treatment for pregnant women safe?

Pregnancy Care is a therapeutic massage technique developed by professional physiotherapists and prenatal massage therapists. It is a completely safe, natural, and drug-free method for alleviating pain during pregnancy.

According to a 2010 review in "Expert Reviews in Obstetrics and Gynecology," therapeutic massage for pregnant women is effective in improving physical pain, emotional tension, and insomnia, as well as reducing postpartum pain. However, certain improper techniques and acupressure can potentially lead to adverse reactions such as contractions. Therefore, it is crucial to seek out a prenatal pain therapist with professional training.

Therapeutic massage is suitable after 13 weeks of pregnancy (after the first trimester).

After the first trimester, the baby's condition becomes more stable, and as the pregnancy progresses into the second/third trimester, bodily changes become more noticeable. Therapeutic massage is suitable for addressing various aspects such as weight, edema, posture, and mood.

  1. Lower back pain
  2. Sciatica
  3. Shoulder and neck strain
  4. Leg edema
  5. Hand fatigue
  6. Overall mental tension and stress
  7. Improved sleep
  1. Understand the pregnant woman's physical condition and concerns.
  2. Manually assess muscle tension and imbalance/edema.
  3. Provide targeted manual therapy.

Each session is approximately 60 minutes.

Each session costs HKD 1,500.

Typically 6-10 sessions, but it also highly depends on the severity of the pregnant woman's pain.

There will be no pain during the treatment, but some overworked muscles/blocked lymph nodes may feel slightly sore, though always within the pregnant woman's tolerance.

Suitable.
Pregnancy places a certain amount of stress on a woman's physical and psychological well-being. Therapeutic massage can effectively alleviate these issues, and after childbirth, it can be combined with electrotherapy or acupuncture for even better recovery.
